KUALA LUMPUR: The RM1,500 minimum wage policy will be implemented on May 1, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the government is aware of the increase in cost of living and its effects, especially on the B40 community.
"I listened to the debates raised by delegates and the voice of the people.
"Therefore, I would like to announce that the minimum wage of RM1,500 a month will begin on May 1 nationwide," he said during his winding up speech at the Umno general assembly on Saturday (March 19).
